Hello Friends,
Today I am reminded of the brevity of life. Scripture tells us that life is but a vapor. It is here one day and gone the next. None of us know when our last day is coming. So, none of us know how to schedule goodbyes, last dinners, crucial last conversations, or final tasks. In fact, we don’t even know if our time on earth will end because of our time ending or because of the world as we know it is ending. Jesus could break the Eastern sky at any moment. So, my friend we must be ready.
As I sit here missing a friend whose race is run, I realize how quickly she went from here to there and how precious life is here on earth. We must not take one breath for granted or leave one message unsaid. For the time God has given us, we must use it wisely. We must leave no Gospel message unsaid, no I love you tucked inside, or any kind deed undone. We must live our lives to the fullest for the Gospel of Christ.
The Words of the Lord must be on our lips and demonstrated with our lives. Those following us must find themselves at the feet of Jesus. Our prayer life should be evident. Our devotion to God displayed with our choices, attitude, and lives. We must be committed to Him, living life with the truth that this very moment may be our last moment on earth.
This isn’t to scare us or make us sad. It is to make us diligent, vigilant, determined, and effective. Too often we get so caught up in our routine that we completely forget the truth that this world is not our home. Jesus is coming back and only those who know Him as Savior will live eternally with Him. Let today be the day that our zeal for the Lord is increased, the fire of our devotion lights the way for others, and we spread the message of the Gospel like never before.
In His Service,
Kimmy
