Hello Friends,
As I sit to write my blog today, my mind is flooded with today’s podcast, entitled “Jesus Is Looking At You.’ As I was recording that podcast, I couldn’t get over the fact that Jesus was looking for Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus may have thought he was looking for Jesus, but the truth is that Jesus was looking for Zacchaeus. How do I know that? I know that because when Jesus got to where Zacchaeus was, Jesus called for Zacchaeus by name.
This entire account brings me so much joy. Jesus knows my name and He is looking for every opportunity to call it. Sometimes, like yesterday He calls my name to pray for someone. Sometimes He calls my name to fill a role or position at church. Sometimes He calls my name to preach or teach. And, sometimes He calls my name to just talk with me. The latter is my favorite. I love my time with Jesus, just me and Him. I don’t fully understand how He is so personal with me when with eight billion people in the world He is bound to be personally talking to someone or somebodies besides me. I mean He is God. He can do whatever He wants. So, regardless of how He does it, I am so grateful that He meets me where I am (just like he did Zacchaeus) and He calls me by name (just like Zacchaeus), and He has a great plan for me (just like Zacchaeus). Check out that podcast to learn more of the amazing details revealed in the account of Zacchaeus and the old sycamore tree.
As am reminded that Jesus looked at Zacchaeus, I want to remind me and you that He is looking at us as well. He sees every tear, heartache, triumph, and joy. He isn’t a God far away in the sky. No, He is my God and Savior, my friend, and Father who lives within my heart. He is close like no other. So, if today you feel as if your life is unraveling and you have more to do than you can handle. Stop. Drop and Pray!
Stop what you are doing and remember you are not alone and that Jesus is with you. Drop all your burdens and your cares and leave them with Jesus. And, pray that God makes His presence real and that He speaks to you in ways He has never spoken to you before today. I know that is what I am going to be praying. There is a big world out there waiting for my light and your light. Let is shine! Remember you are loved. Jesus loves you.
In His Service,
Kimmy
