VERSE: I Peter 3:15 – “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:”
This verse reminds us that we are to declare God as holy in our hearts. When we revere the Lord and fully respect Him, we will be attached to Him and make it a point to really know Him. Having this close relationship with God will allow us to be ready in all situations to praise Him, trust Him, and follow Him. We won’t need to stumble for a reason for the joy that is in us because we will be well acquainted with the difference Christ makes in our lives. We will be experiencing the peace, joy, grace, and mercy that He alone can give.
Our relationship with Christ isn’t one for which we should boast or hold over someone who doesn’t know Jesus. It is one that we should be seeking to help others have as well. When asked where our hope comes from, we should be quick to answer “Jesus” with all the gentleness, love, and meekness that would convey to others the transforming power of knowing Jesus has done for us. Speak truth in love! Remember Jesus loves you. You are loved.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for being my hope and giving me grace. Help me to be bold and always ready to tell others about You, Your grace, mercy, and love. May my life be a living testimony of Your transforming power. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
