Song: “A Shelter in the Time of Storm”

By Vernon J. Charlesworth

  1. The Lord’s our Rock, in Him we hide,
    A Shelter in the time of storm;
    Secure whatever ill betide,
    A Shelter in the time of storm.

Refrain:
Oh, Jesus is a Rock in a weary land,
A weary land, a weary land;
Oh, Jesus is a Rock in a weary land,
A Shelter in the time of storm.

  1. A shade by day, defense by night,
    A Shelter in the time of storm;
    No fears alarm, no foes afright,
    A Shelter in the time of storm.

Refrain:

  1. The raging storms may round us beat,
    A Shelter in the time of storm;
    We’ll never leave our safe Retreat,
    A Shelter in the time of storm.

Refrain:

  1. O Rock divine, O Refuge dear,
    A Shelter in the time of storm;
    Be Thou our Helper ever near,
    A Shelter in the time of storm.

VERSE:  Philippians 4:6—“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Don’t worry!  As a child of God, living in His grace, mercy, and will, you have access to all of Jesus, His promises, and His power.  Regardless of the situations you face, the size of your problem, or the odds that are against you, Jesus is greater than all of these.  Nothing is too big for God or too small for God. If it concerns you then Jesus is interested in hearing about it and fixing it.  Once you understand who He is and His love for you, then His promises to provide for you, to never leave you, and to give you strength (just to name a few) will strengthen your faith and trust in Him.  He alone is trustworthy! He is capable and willing to provide all your needs and to fight your battles for you. Don’t worry!  He has this and He has you.  Remember Jesus loves you. You are loved.

Prayer: Thank You, Lord for holding me, for protecting me, providing for me, and most of all for loving me.  Strengthen my faith today as you reveal Yourself to me.  Teach me Your ways.  Keep me in Your will.  Restore my joy and take my fear and worry.  Give me Your peace so others may see You in me.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
