Nahum 1:7: “The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him.”
The Lord is good! Yes, He is! He is a sure help in time of trouble, and He knows me! The words of this verse ring over and over in my heart! The Lord knows me and continually gives blessings and help to me! I love that the Lord is good! We say that all the time but what does it mean? The dictionary defines it as something to be desired, that which is morally right, righteous, and a benefit. The Bible tells us that “Good and upright is the Lord: therefore, will He teach sinners the way” (Psalm 25:8). He is so good that He teaches us how to live a life that is pleasing to Him. He is so good that He came that we might have an abundant life (John 10:10). He is so good that He gave His life that we might go free (John 3:16). He is so good that He has gone to prepare a place for us in heaven and is coming again to receive us unto Himself, (John 14:1-3). “Oh how great is Thy goodness, which Thou hast laid up for them that fear Thee; which Thou hast wrought for them that trust in Thee before the sons of men” (Psalm 31:19)! “O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him,” (Psalm 34:8). You are Loved. God Loves You!
Prayer: Thank you Lord for Your blessings on me. Teach me Your ways. Help me to live like You would have me to live. Fill my heart with Your love and Your goodness. Create in me a clean heart, a heart that is seeking You and is desiring to follow Your commandments. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
