Song: “Sheltered In the Arms of God”
By Dottie Rambo
Verse 1-I feel the touch of hands so kind and tender
They’re leading me in paths that I must trod
I’ll have no fear for Jesus walks beside me
For I’m sheltered in the arms of God
Refrain
So let the storms rage high
The dark clouds rise
They don’t worry me
For I’m sheltered safe within the arms of God
He walks with me
And naught of earth shall harm me
For I’m sheltered in the arms of God
Verse 2-Soon I shall hear the call from Heaven’s portals
“Come home, My child, it’s the last mile you must trod.”
I’ll fall asleep and wake up in God’s new heaven
For I’m sheltered in the arms of God [Refrain]
VERSE: James 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
Now, that is an outcome worth celebrating and contemplating. When we submit to God, the devil flees. Submitting to God and His Word brings peace. When you do this, you are guaranteed to send the devil packing. If you think about it at all it makes perfect sense. Where the devil is there is no peace. Those thoughts of doubt and fear are not coming from God. “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace,…” (I Corinthians 14:33). The angst and nervousness you feel is not from God. In fact, God is waiting to keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus if you just submit and believe. “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4: 6-7). Jesus loves you. You are loved.
Prayer: Oh, Lord, My God, how truly great You are! Thank You for loving me enough to shelter me from harm, to wrap me in Your love and to carry me through this life. Teach me to trust You more, to know You better and to live in Your peace. Give me eyes to see You working all around me. Fill me with You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
