Song: “Only Trust Him”
Author: John H. Stockton
1 Come, every soul by sin oppressed,
there’s mercy with the Lord,
and He will surely give you rest
by trusting in His word.
Refrain:
Only trust Him, only trust Him,
only trust Him now;
He will save you, He will save you,
He will save you now.
2 For Jesus shed His precious blood
rich blessings to bestow;
plunge now into the crimson flood
that washes white as snow. [Refrain]
3 Yes, Jesus is the truth, the way,
that leads you into rest;
believe in Him without delay,
and you are fully blest. [Refrain]
4 Come, then, and join this holy band,
and on to glory go,
to dwell in that celestial land
where joys immortal flow. [Refrain]
VERSE: Mark 11:22, “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.”
Storms of doubt come into each of our lives. We walk through times of trouble. We stumble over worldly obstacles. Often, we even fall from the weight of the world around us. But these are all temporary situations for the child of God. We don’t let doubt cloud our minds for long because we seek God’s Word and allow it to shine its light of truth into our heart and mind removing all doubt. The worldly obstacles prove to be easily overcome as we place our faith in God, who lives within us in the form of the Holy Spirit, and is far greater than the world. And, we never stay down because Jesus picks up the brokenhearted, downtrodden, and weary from out of the miry pit and places them on higher, more stable ground. It is true that in any given moment you might find us in one of these temporary situations but you will never find us outside of the outstretched hands of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Faith is the key! It unlocks God’s blessings. It fills our heart with hope, and it keeps us in the center of God’s will. Regardless of your problem, the answer is faith in God and dependence upon His Son, Jesus Christ! Following Christ and giving Him rule and reign over your heart will produce a faith that results in glorious peace. Remember, Jesus loves you. You are loved!
Prayer: Hold my hand dear LORD. Fill my heart with a faith that stands the tests of time. Give me boldness in You. Increase my strength, my wisdom, and yes, my faith. Help me to be strong in Your Word, faithful in Your service, Godly in my walk, humble in my Spirit, and joyous in my heart. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
