Song: “Joy Unspeakable”
Barney E. Warren
- I have found His grace is all complete,
He supplieth every need;
While I sit and learn at Jesus’ feet,
I am free, yes, free indeed.
Refrain:
It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,
Full of glory, full of glory;
It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,
Oh, the half has never yet been told.
- I have found the pleasure I once craved,
It is joy and peace within;
What a wondrous blessing, I am saved
From the awful gulf of sin.
Refrain:
- I have found that hope so bright and clear,
Living in the realm of grace;
Oh, the Savior’s presence is so near,
I can see His smiling face.
Refrain
- I have found the joy no tongue can tell,
How its waves of glory roll;
It is like a great o’erflowing well,
Springing up within my soul.
Refrain
VERSE: Psalm 35:9 “And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in His salvation.”
Sometimes we get tricked into thinking there is nothing in our lives that makes us joyful. We get so bogged down with the chaos of the world and the things that are going on around us that we forget that there is always something for which we can be joyful! Joy doesn’t come from an outside source. Joy comes from within. It comes from knowing that Jesus loves you and that He is watching over you, caring for you and always providing for you. When you start to feel as if nothing is right in your life, turn your mind towards Jesus. Think about His love for you. Think about His goodness. Think of all He has done for you. Don’t dwell on the things of this world but focus on the saving grace of Jesus and the truth that the best is yet to come. For a child of God, this world is not our home. So, lift your head; raise your hands and rejoice in the Lord and all He has for you. “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice,” (Philippians 4:4). Remember Jesus loves you. You are loved.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for your watch care over me and for leading me and directing me. Thank you for the joy You give me that is greater than all my sorrow. Help me to live in Your presence, to experience Your peace and to walk in Your ways. Help me to trust You more. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
