Song: “Jesus is All the World to Me”
Will Lamartine Thompson
Jesus is all the world to me:
My life, my joy, my all.
He is my strength from day to day;
Without Him I would fall.
When I am sad, to Him I go;
No other one can cheer me so.
When I am sad, He makes me glad;
He’s my Friend.
Jesus is all the world to me,
My Friend in trials sore.
I go to Him for blessings, and
He gives them o’er and o’er.
He sends the sunshine and the rain;
He sends the harvest’s golden grain:
Sunshine and rain, harvest of grain—
He’s my Friend.
Jesus is all the world to me,
And true to Him I’ll be.
Oh, how could I this Friend deny
When He’s so true to me?
Following Him I know I’m right;
He watches o’er me day and night.
Following Him by day and night,
He’s my Friend.
Jesus is all the world to me,
I want no better friend.
I trust Him now; I’ll trust Him when
Life’s fleeting days shall end.
Beautiful life with such a Friend;
Beautiful life that has no end!
Eternal life, eternal joy,
He’s my Friend.
VERSE: John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
In today’s world, it often seems as if our world is completely topsy-turvy. While our world, the ground we walk on, is often steady, the events of this world can cause our lives to rock. So often, when we look at our world, we only see the circumstances and the events that are happening around us. But there’s a better way to look! When we start to look at the world, we need to refocus our eyes and look at Jesus. He is our strength, our friend, our protector, our guide, our provider, and our salvation. Look at the world through Jesus glasses. The things of this world will dim when Jesus is the filter through which we look. Remember Jesus loves you. You are loved.
Prayer: Oh Lord, please give me eyes to see everything through You. Thank you for being my friend, for taking care of me, and for being my constant companion. Help me to turn to you when the things of this world go topsy-turvy. That you for always holding my hand. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
