Song: “The Family of God”
By Bill Gait-her
For I’m part of the family, the family of God.
(1) You will notice we say “brother and sister” ’round here
It’s because we’re a family and these folks are so near;
When one has a heartache we all share the tears,
And rejoice in each victory, In this family so dear.
CHORUS
I’m so glad I’m a part of the family of God-
I’ve been washed in the fountain,
cleansed by His blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus
as we travel this sod,
For I’m part of the family,
the family of God.
(2) From the door of an orphanage
to the house of the King-
No longer an outcast,
a new song I sing;
From rags unto riches,
from the weak to the strong,
I’m not worthy to be here,
But, praise God, I belong!
CHORUS
Yes I’m part of the family,
the family of God.
VERSE: Matthew 12:50, “For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heave, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
The devil may tell you that you are all alone and that no one cares. This is a lie. The truth is no one has ever or will ever care for you like Jesus. He loves you unconditionally. In fact, through His blood, you can be part of God’s family, joint heirs with Jesus. When you accept Him as Savior and live according to His commandments, you are part of His family. You are never alone. Even if your earthly family is far away, God is always near. Pray and invite His presence into your day. Remember Jesus loves you. You are loved.
Prayer: Jesus thank you for always loving me and wanting to be near me. Thank you for your provisions, your grace and your mercy. Visit with me today and let me feel your presence. I love you. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
