Song: “No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus”
Author: Charles Weigle
Chorus
No one ever cared for me like Jesus;
There’s no other friend so kind as He.
No one else could take the sin and darkness from me;
O how much He cared for me.
I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus,
Since I found in Him a friend so strong and true.
I would tell you how He changed my life completely;
He did something no other friend could do. [Chorus]
All my life was full of sin when Jesus found me;
All my heart was full of misery and woe,
Jesus placed His strong arms about me
And He led me in the way I ought to go. [Chorus]
Ev’ry day He comes to me with new assurance;
More and more I understand His word of love.
But I’ll never know just why He came to save me,
Till someday I see His blessed face above. [Chorus]
VERSE: Psalm 22:24, “For He hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath He hid His face from Him; but when he cried unto Him, He heard.”
The devil is a liar. He may tell you that no one is interested in you or listening to you. This is a lie. The truth is, Jesus never leaves you nor forsakes you. And, according to this verse, He hears you when you call on Him. He cares for you! If the devil can’t shake you with that lie, he may place the thought in your head that you aren’t important to the Lord. The devil will try to convince you that because you are older and perhaps even suffering from failing health that God doesn’t care about you. The truth is that God sees your affliction and is ever present to help you through it. God provides all your needs. You must put your trust in Him. He hasn’t forgotten you or judged you as unworthy of His love. In fact, He has done just the opposite. He proved His love for you and His dedication to you on the cross of Calvary when He died for you. So, when the devil comes around with his useless lies, remember “greater is He that is you than he that is in the world” (I John 4:4). Remember, Jesus loves you. You are loved!
Prayer: Thank you Lord for caring for me. Keep me ever focused on your love for me. Give me the peace of knowing that you are always with me. I love you. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
