Song: “Only Trust Him”
Author: John H. Stockton
Come, every soul by sin oppressed,
there’s mercy with the Lord,
and He will surely give you rest
by trusting in His word.
Refrain: Only trust Him, only trust Him,
only trust Him now;
He will save you, He will save you,
He will save you now.
For Jesus shed His precious blood
rich blessings to bestow;
plunge now into the crimson flood
that washes white as snow. [Refrain]
Yes, Jesus is the truth, the way,
that leads you into rest;
believe in Him without delay,
and you are fully blest. [Refrain]
Come, then, and join this holy band,
and on to glory go,
to dwell in that celestial land
where joys immortal flow. [Refrain]
VERSE: Psalm 115:11, “Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: He is their help and their shield.”
There may be times in your life when you feel helpless. You may feel as if everything is spinning out of control and there is nothing you can do to stop it. The truth is you don’t need to do anything, and everything is not spinning out of control. Every detail of your life is in God’s hands and He is firmly in control. The Lord is your strength and He is your help. With Jesus on your side, you don’t need anything or anyone else. Regardless of the situation, God is available, able and willing to help you. All you must do is trust in Him. In fact, if the truth be told, there are many possible negative situations in your life that are avoided, and you don’t even know about them because of God’s protection and shield all around you. Every day you are protected by Almighty God. You are never out of His sight and you are never without His presence. Reach out to Jesus today. Claim His blessings through a strong prayer life and a Godly walk. Place your trust in a God that can not fail and who loves you beyond measure. Remember, Jesus loves you. You are loved!
Prayer: Dear Lord, please calm my heart today. There are so many things happening in this world and all around me that cause my heart to fear. Increase my faith in you. Help me to trust you more so that I can know the peace that comes from walking closely with you. Place your shield of protection around me. Draw me near to you that I may know the joy of fellowshipping with you. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
