VERSE: Galatians 5:25 – “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
The Bible tells us that how we live our lives matters. Throughout scripture, we are commanded to walk in the ways of God and to be a shining example of God’s grace and mercy. Galatians 5 gives us a good glimpse into how our lives should demonstrate the characteristics of Jesus. We are told we should live in love, joy, and peace with others. We are instructed to be patient, gentle and good to others. We are commanded to be faithful and live peaceably with all men if possible. So you see, it does matter how we live. Our actions show others what our heart and mind truly believe. Our actions are an outward demonstration of an inward conviction. For some people, we may be the only Bible they read. Our life may be their only demonstration of the works of God. It is important that we demonstrate who God is in everything we do, at every place we go, and in front of everyone we meet. This is what it means to walk in the Spirit. God has blessed us with amazing things, given us amazing people in our lives, and continually provides and protects His own. Our lives should demonstrate these blessings and our walk should lead others to the same reality that we have found. Jesus loves us. Jesus is real and Jesus wants a relationship with all.
Prayer: Lord, help me to be a living testimony of Your goodness, grace, and mercy. Teach me to love as You love. Give me eyes to see the needs of others and to fulfill those needs as you bless me with means and opportunity. Continue to use me in Your service. Create in me a clean heart and a shining light. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
