VERSE: Titus 2:7 – “In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,”
There is a standard for us to live revealed to us in this verse. In all things, that means in every situation, regardless of the circumstance, whether in good times or in bad times, we are to do good. This consistent doing of good will establish a pattern in our lives that will allow others to expect us to do good. Those of us who are Christians should be different than those who are not. Our works will not get us to heaven, but it should point others to it. Those who follow us should be able to see a pattern of good works. They should see a pattern of helping others, living holy, serving Christ, giving, wisdom, and righteousness. The older we get the more determined our pattern should be. What kind of pattern are you leaving for others to follow? Will it lead them to Jesus? Do they feel His love, mercy, and grace through your words and actions? Leave a pattern so others can come to know Jesus. Let your actions be a Bible for others to read. Remember, Jesus loves you. You are loved.
Prayer: Mold me into the person You want me to be. Help me to help others see You in me. Give me Your eyes, Your ears, and Your hands and feet so that I can lead others to You. Keep my heart pure and my actions holy. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
