I John 4:4, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater
is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
What a comforting truth! We are children of the most high God. As so, we have all the privileges of being a child of God. In fact, as His child, He has come to dwell in us through the presence of the Holy Spirit and in doing so has equipped us to overcome anything this world has to offer. None of satan’s lies, devices or strategies can overtake us unless we choose to let him win because within us is the power of God! God’s power is greater than satan’s. So, when depression, anxiety, anger, and disappointment come knocking on your heart’s door, turn your eyes upon Jesus. Rest in the light of His Word. Trust His promises and turn your problems, your doubts, and your fears over to Him. He will take them and intervene on your behalf. The victory is yours! It is already won. You are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37). Remember, Jesus loves you. You are loved.
Prayer: Lord, help me to understand that because of You this world is not my home. Give me the courage to let you manage and handle the problems associated with this life. Teach me to trust You and to wait upon You. Give me grace to wait patiently and strength to be bold in my faith while you work out all things for my good. Help me to claim my victory. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
