Song: “Victory In Jesus”
Author: Eugene Bartlett
I heard an old, old story,
How a Savior came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary
To save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning,
Of His precious blood’s atoning,
Then I repented of my sins
And won the victory.
Chorus
O victory in Jesus,
My Savior, forever.
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory,
Beneath the cleansing flood.
I heard about His healing,
Of His cleansing pow’r revealing.
How He made the lame to walk again
And caused the blind to see;
And then I cried, “Dear Jesus,
Come and heal my broken spirit,”
And somehow Jesus came and bro’t
To me the victory. Chorus
I heard about a mansion
He has built for me in glory.
And I heard about the streets of gold
Beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing,
And the old redemption story,
And some sweet day I’ll sing up there
The song of victory. Chorus
VERSE: I John 5:5, “Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”
You are victorious through Jesus Christ! When you believe that Jesus is the Son of Christ, the payment for your sins and accept His work on Calvary (the shedding of His pure, sinless blood, to cover your sins) then you are an overcomer. You have victory over this world and a hope in Jesus Christ. Your faith in Jesus will allow you to trust the Lord for all you need, to turn to Him for all your answers and to live in the joy of His presence in your life. Your faith will make you whole as you bask in His presence, relish in His love, enjoy His peace, mediate upon His grace, and receive His mercy. Remember, Jesus loves you. You are loved!
Prayer: Jesus, my friend, and my Savior, cleanse me. Prepare my heart and my mind for Your presence in my life. Help me to think about Your goodness, to sing Your praises and to live in Your presence. Increase my faith. Make me strong in You Lord, a bright witness, and a good soldier for You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
