Song: “Nothing But the Blood”
By Robert Lowry
What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Refrain:
Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
For my pardon, this I see,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
For my cleansing this my plea,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Refrain:
Nothing can for sin atone,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
Naught of good that I have done,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Refrain:
This is all my hope and peace,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
This is all my righteousness,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Refrain:
VERSE: Romans 6:1-2, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”
Sometimes we can become lax in our Christian walk. We can become so entrenched in our day to day that we forget to reflect on all that God has done for us and all that He has saved us from. When we pause to remember what God has done for us through His Son, Jesus, we are quickly reminded of the life we are to live in Christ Jesus. We are to be fruitful with good works. We are to be Christ-like in our speech, our attitude, our service, our giving and our love. We are to leave the former sinful ways and strive, through the help of the Holy Spirit, to live Godly lives which inspire others to do the same. Our lives are to reflect the works of the Holy Spirit which dwells inside each believer. Today, think about your life. Examine your actions and make sure they represent Christ and His work in you and His love for you. Remember Jesus loves you. You are loved.
Prayer: Lord, cleanse me I pray. Examine my heart and bring to my mind those things I need to remove from my life. Grow Your love within my heart so that I may give it freely to others. Order my thoughts, my footsteps, my words and my actions in accordance with Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
