Song: “Just a Little Talk with Jesus”
Cleavant Derricks

I once was lost in sin but Jesus took me in
And then a little light from heaven filled my soul
It bathed my heart in love and wrote my name above
And just a little talk with Jesus made me whole

Now let us have a little talk with Jesus
Let us tell Him all about our troubles
He will hear our faintest cry
He will answer by and by
Now when you feel a little prayer wheel turning
And you know a little fire is burning
You will find a little talk with Jesus makes it right

Sometimes my path seems drear without a ray of cheer
And then a cloud of doubt may hide the light of day
The mists of sin may rise and hide the starry skies
But just a little talk with Jesus clears the way

I may have doubts and fears my eyes be filled with tears
But Jesus is a friend who watches day and night
I go to Him in prayer He knows my every care
And just a little talk with Jesus makes it right

VERSE Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

We all know the joy of a long talk with a friend. Now, that is even more precious than it ever was before. But though our opportunities to talk with our friends may be limited, our opportunity to talk with the Lord is never limited. No earthly event can take that away from us. There is power in a conversation with the Lord. Salvation comes through a talk with Jesus (Romans 10:13). Comfort in life’s troubles comes from a talk with Jesus (Psalms 18:3). Direction for the next step in our lives comes from a talk with Jesus (Jeremiah 33:3). Protection as we sleep comes from a talk with Jesus (Psalms 4:8). Whatever is going on in your life can be made better through a talk with Jesus. Reach out to Him. He’s already there and He is listening. Remember Jesus loves you.  You are loved.

Prayer:  Oh Lord, thank you for always being ready to listen. Thank you for coming to die on the cross for my sins that I might have a personal relationship with you, a relationship that gives me access to You all the time. Thank you for being present in my life and for hearing me when I pray. Teach me to always come to you first when I need help and guidance. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
