Trusting Today
Song: “’Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus”
Louisa M. R. Stead
’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, Thus saith the Lord.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him,
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er,
Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more.
O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him,
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er,
Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more.
Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life, and rest, and joy, and peace.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him,
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er,
Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more.
I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him,
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er,
Jesus, Jesus, Precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!
VERSE Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
Trust. Trust is defined as reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something. Most importantly, though, trust is a verb. Even more importantly, it is an action verb. Trusting in Jesus is not a one-time event. We trust Jesus once for salvation, but every day we trust Him in our circumstances. We trust Him for our health, for the protection of our family, for our finances, for our peace of mind, and for our comfort. As situations arise, place your trust in Him. Remember Jesus loves you. You are loved.
Prayer: Oh Lord, thank you for being the One in whom I trust. Thank you for always anchoring my heart and soul. Thank you for the assurance that when circumstances arise, I can trust in you to take care of the circumstance. I praise You for being completely capable of providing for all I need. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
