Song: “Thank You Lord for Your Blessings On Me
By Bill and Gloria Gaither
- As the world looks upon me, as I struggle along
They say I have nothing, but they are so wrong
In my heart I’m rejoicing, how I wish they could see
Thankyou Lord, for your blessings on me
Chorus
There’s a roof up above me
I’ve a good place to sleep
There’s food on my table
And shoes on my feet
You gave me your love Lord
And a fine family
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me
2. Now I know I’m not wealthy, and these clothes, they’re not new
I don’t have much money, but Lord I have you
And to me that’s all that matters, though the world cannot see
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me.
- Chorus
There’s a roof up above me
I’ve a good place to sleep
There’s food on my table
And shoes on my feet
You gave me your love Lord
And a fine family
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me
VERSE: Psalm 19:1—“ The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handiwork.”
When we see all that God has created and the beauty that He displays daily with His creations, we can’t help but realize the power, the majesty, and the glory of God. By their very existence, the heavens praise and glorify God. Each time someone looks upon the firmament they see God. However, as beautiful as the stars, the moon, the sun, and the heavens are they are nothing compared to you. When God created you, He created you in His image. No other creation of God was created in His image. Jesus did not die on the cross to pay the penalty for any other creation. No, only those of us created in God’s image have the opportunity for the forgiveness of sins through the cleansing of the blood of Jesus. So, if the heavens declare His glory and the firmament displays His handiwork how much more should you, the redeemed, display God’s greatness. Today, let your every action show forth God’s greatness. Let your life be a living testimony for God. Remember, Jesus loves you. You are loved.
Prayer: Lord, let my life be a living testimony of Your goodness, grace and mercy. Let my history be Your legacy. Teach me to walk in Your ways so that those who follow in my footsteps will find You. Give me wisdom to live a life that is both pleasing to You and also points others to You. Let Your light shine through me so that you may be glorified. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
