Song: “Love Lifted Me”
James Rowe
1 I was sinking deep in sin,
Far from the peaceful shore,
Very deeply stained within,
Sinking to rise no more;
But the Master of the sea
Heard my despairing cry,
From the waters lifted me–
Now safe am I.
Refrain:
Love lifted me,
Love lifted me,
When nothing else could help,
Love lifted me;
Love lifted me,
Love lifted me,
When nothing else could help,
Love lifted me.
2 All my heart to Him I give,
Ever to Him I’ll cling,
In His blessed presence live,
Ever His praises sing.
Love so mighty and so true
Merits my soul’s best songs;
Faithful, loving service, too,
To Him belongs. [Refrain]
3 Souls in danger, look above,
Jesus completely saves;
He will lift you by His love
Out of the angry waves.
He’s the Master of the sea,
Billows His will obey;
He your Savior wants to be–
Be saved today. [Refrain]
VERSE: Ephesians 5:2 “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor.”
Let this verse remind you of your call to action, your call to love. Let Christ be the example you follow in your daily interaction with others. Let your actions speak love to all who cross your path. Yes, everyone you encounter should see love, His love, in you! What are some ideas you can incorporate in your daily routine that would fulfill this admonition of God, to walk in love? First, ask God for His help in loving others. Secondly, always think of others before yourself. Remember the adage, “JOY—Jesus first, Others second and Yourself last.” Lastly, focus on how much He loves you and how much grace He uses when dealing with you. This will surely cause you to “walk in love.” Remember you may be the only Bible some people ever read. Make sure you are displaying His teachings correctly. Remember Jesus loves you. You are loved!
Prayer: Lord, give me Your eyes to see the needs of others. Make my words and my actions instruments of Your peace and vessels of Your love. Fill me with Your goodness. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
