Song: “Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty!”
1 Holy, holy, holy! Lord God almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty!
God in three persons, blessed trinity!
2 Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,
casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,
which wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.
3 Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,
though the eye of sinfulness thy glory may not see,
only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
perfect in pow’r, in love, and purity.
4 Holy, holy, holy! Lord God almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth, and sky, and sea.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty!
God in three persons, blessed trinity!
VERSE: Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Matthew 7:20 says, “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” What does your fruit say about you? Are you bearing fruit that lets others know you are a child of God? Does your life tell others that you love Jesus and are following His Word? Do you spread the love of Jesus to those around you? Do you live in peace and joy? Are others excited to be around you because of the calmness you bring, or does your presence stir strife and chaos? As Christians, we need to be abounding with the fruit of the Spirit. Our lives should be a harvest of goodness. Our actions, our choices, and our demeanor should demonstrate our faith. We are a walking testimony of the impact Jesus makes. Does your life show He is powerful, good, loving, kind and full of peace? If not, make the necessary changes that will enable you to exhibit the fruit of a life centered on Jesus and His Word. Remember Jesus loves you. You are loved.
Prayer: Oh Lord, search my heart. Reveal to me anything that needs to be removed. Bring to my mind those habits, actions and choices that need to be changed. Help me to be an ambassador of Your love and Your peace. Make my life an instrument for your blessings. Fill my heart with Your grace and Your mercy. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
