Song: “Blessed Assurance”
Fanny Crosby and Phoebe Knapp

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Refrain:
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels, descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.  Refrain:

VERSE:  John 10:14, “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.”

Your relationship with Jesus is a personal relationship.  He died for you (John 3:16).  He isn’t some great big God who is way up in the sky who saved you and forgot about you.  No, He is personal and makes His abode in your heart.  As His child, He has placed the Holy Spirit within you to lead you and guide you.  Furthermore, He refers to Himself as the “good shepherd” and you as “His sheep.”  This allows you to know that He is always taking care of you.  He is watching out for you and He is supplying all your needs.  The good shepherd protects His sheep.  He knows sheep know the voice of their shepherd and that they follow him.  We, as Christians, must follow Jesus, our shepherd, and hear His voice in our lives.  We need to follow Him and walk in His ways.  We are safe in His care and need to trust Him in all things and in all ways.  Jesus, our Shepherd, knows the way and is the way.  Therefore, trust Him with your life, your cares and all your heart.  Allow Jesus to be your shepherd.  Trust Him today.  You are His and He is yours.  Jesus loves you.  You are loved.

Prayer:  Lord, thank You for Your many blessings upon my life.  Thank You for watching over me, for providing for me and for loving me.  Help me to commit my entire life to You, Lord.  Fill my heart with this blessed assurance that You are truly mine and I am fully Yours.  Increase my faith, Lord.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
