Song: “I Need Thee Every Hour”
Annie S. Hawks and Robert Lowry
I need Thee every hour,
most gracious Lord;
no tender voice like Thine
can peace afford.
Refrain:
I need Thee, O I need Thee;
every hour I need Thee!
O bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
I need Thee every hour,
stay Thou near by;
temptations lose their power
when Thou art nigh. [Refrain]
I need Thee every hour,
in joy or pain;
come quickly, and abide,
or life is vain. [Refrain]
I need Thee every hour;
teach me Thy will,
and Thy rich promises
in me fulfill. [Refrain]
VERSE: I Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.”
Oh, how Jesus loves you! Let your mind reflect upon the fact that Jesus died on the cross of Calvary to pay your sin debt before you were even born. This means that God was making a way for you long before you ever asked Him. In fact, Jesus sought you, bought you and cared for you before you ever acknowledged His existence. He provided salvation for you at the expense of His own life. These actions demonstrate God’s providential care over you and Jesus’ love for you. Now, if you were loved so deeply and completely by God and His Son to prepare a way for you before you knew Him, how much more do you think He will do for you now that you do know Him? As a child of God, you have a relationship with the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace. Yes, you belong to Him. So, open your heart and let Jesus fill you with His presence. Allow Him to give you the peace that comes from giving Him all your troubles and cares and trusting Him completely. Jesus loves you. You are loved.
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for loving me. Thank you for never leaving me nor forsaking me. Lord, help me to give you all the cares and troubles of my heart. Help me to trust you in all things and to look to you for my peace and strength. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
