Song: “Oh How I Love Jesus”
Author:  Frederick Whitfield

There is a Name I love to hear,
I love to sing its worth;
It sounds like music in my ear,
The sweetest Name on earth.

Refrain:
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Because He first loved me!

It tells me of a Savior’s love,
Who died to set me free;
It tells me of His precious blood,
The sinner’s perfect plea.  [Refrain]

In store for every day,
And though I tread a darksome path,
Yields sunshine all the way. [Refrain]

It tells of One whose loving heart
Can feel my deepest woe;
Who in each sorrow bears a part
That none can bear below. [Refrain]

VERSE:  Psalm 116:1, “I LOVE the LORD, because He hath heard my voice and my supplications.”

Oh, how I love Jesus!  Why, you may ask.  I love Him not only because He first loved me (I John 4:19), but also because of how incredibly amazing His love is for me.  He answers me when I pray (Jeremiah 33:3).  He is my constant companion (Hebrews 13:5).  He supplies my every need (Philippians 4:19). He saved my soul (John 3:16).  He has built a mansion for me in heaven (John 14:3).  He has given me peace (John 14:1).  These are but a few of the countless reasons I love the Lord.  And, rest assured that what He has done for me He will do for you also.  All you need to do to claim these and many more amazing benefits of Christ’s love is to believe in Him.  Once you believe in the only begotten Son of God to take away your sins and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness, He will save you (Romans 10:9-10).  With His salvation comes all the blessings of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  As a child of the most High God, you are an heir with Jesus Christ.  Jesus loves you.  You are loved!

Prayer:  Dear Jesus, thank you for your love, your grace and your mercy.  Thank you for saving me and paying the penalty for my sins, a penalty I could not pay.  Lord, I am so grateful for your many blessings upon me and all the benefits that comes from being your child.  Teach me to trust you more.  Increase my faith and help me to experience your joy.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
