Song: “I Must Tell Jesus”
By Elisha A. Hoffman
I cannot bear these burdens alone;
In my distress He kindly will help me,
He ever loves and cares for His own.
Refrain: I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
I cannot bear my burdens alone;
I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.
I must tell Jesus all of my troubles,
He is a kind, compassionate Friend;
If I but ask Him He will deliver,
Make of my troubles quickly an end. [Refrain]
Tempted and tried I need a great Savior,
One who can help my burdens to bear;
I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus:
He all my cares and sorrows will share. [Refrain]
What must I do when worldliness calls me?
What must I do when tempted to sin?
I must tell Jesus, and He will help me
Over the world the vict’ry to win. [Refrain]
VERSE: Psalm 62:8, “Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us, Selah.”
Many times, in our lives, we find ourselves in a place mentally that just cries out for someone to listen to us. We feel so all alone and the devil tells us that no one cares. It is during these times that you must fully rely on your trust in Jesus. This trust will assure you that Jesus is not only with you but that He is also there with open arms welcoming you to sit and spend some time with Him. He wants you to give Him your burdens and to cast your cares on Him. He cares for you (I Peter 5:7). You are never alone because Jesus has promised He would never leave you (Hebrews 13:5). So, stop believing the lies of the devil and embrace Jesus. Talk with Him, pray to Him, praise Him and listen to His Words written to you, in the most precious love letter ever written, the Bible. Jesus loves you. You are loved.
Prayer: Our kind and most gracious dear Heavenly Father, I come to you today, seeking your presence in my life. I ask you to speak to my heart and calm my fears and my doubts. Please give me the peace that comes from knowing you in a real and personal way. Help me to see you in all you do for me today. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
