Song: “Joy Unspeakable”
Barney E. Warren

I have found His grace is all complete,
He supplieth every need;
While I sit and learn at Jesus’ feet,
I am free, yes, free indeed.

Refrain:
It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,
Full of glory, full of glory;
It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,
Oh, the half has never yet been told.

I have found the pleasure I once craved,
It is joy and peace within;
What a wondrous blessing, I am saved
From the awful gulf of sin. [Refrain]

I have found that hope so bright and clear,
Living in the realm of grace;
Oh, the Savior’s presence is so near,
I can see His smiling face. [Refrain]

I have found the joy no tongue can tell,
How its waves of glory roll;
It is like a great o’erflowing well,
Springing up within my soul. [Refrain]

VERSE:  I Peter 1:8, “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.”

We love Jesus because He first loved us (I John 4:19).  He proved this by dying on the cross for our sins (John 3:16).  His love gives us joy.  It is our faith in Jesus that gives us access to His joy and His love. We must have faith in Jesus. In fact, without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6).  Our faith in Jesus gives us His joy within us that allows us to glorify God.

Regardless of the circumstances, we can praise the Lord and have joy.  This is what is referred to as joy unspeakable. It is being joyous in circumstances that without God you would not find any joy.  It is glorying in your relationship with Jesus and realizing that what matters is the love, friendship and relationship you share with Jesus.  Through faith we can see Jesus, bask in His love and experience His joy.  Jesus loves you.  You are loved.

Prayer:  Lord, thank you for giving me joy.  Thank you that my outward circumstances do not dictate my life.  In You, I am complete.  Thank you for your promise that you would supply my every need, physically, emotionally and spiritually.  Thank You Lord, for your blessings on me.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
