Song: “Up from the Grave He Arose”
Robert Lowry
Low in the grave He lay, Jesus my Savior,
waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!
Refrain:
Up from the grave He arose;
with a mighty triumph o’er His foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
and He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!
Vainly they watch His bed, Jesus my Savior,
vainly they seal the dead, Jesus my Lord! [Refrain]
Death cannot keep its prey, Jesus my Savior;
He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord! [Refrain]
VERSE: Matthew 28:6, “He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
Happy Easter! It is a glorious day! It is the day we celebrate the risen Savior. There are many false gods, but only one true, living God. The fact that distinguishes our Christian faith from other faiths is that we place our faith in a living, risen Savior. The other religions who place their faith in false gods are serving a god that is powerless and dead. You, my dear Christian friend, have hope because it is placed in Jesus. And, let me tell you He is both alive and powerful. He is real and He is personal. He is still performing miracles today! Unlike the false gods, our God and His Son Jesus Christ, along with the Holy Spirit that dwells in us, walks with us and talks with us. In fact, He never sleeps nor slumbers (Psalm 121:4) and by doing so He is always watching out for our good. Rejoice! Jesus is alive! Jesus loves you. You are loved!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you! I praise you for your greatness. I praise you for your power and I praise you for your all-knowing presence in my life. Lord, I ask you to open my eyes that I might see all you do for me every day. Help me to recognize how You are always working for my good. Lord, I love you and I thank you for being real and for being present in my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
