I was thinking what the topic of today’s devotion could be about. There are SO many ideas when it comes to God, the Bible, Jesus, and the list continues! Then, I fixed my eyes on a new water bottle I got from the local Christian bookstore with the word “Love” on it and John 13:34. That verse tells us this:
“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”
What a terrific verse! It is the perfect reminder to us that we love. While that may sound so simple, it can be one of the most difficult things we could possibly do. It can be simple, though! Just think that if Jesus loves each and every person He has ever created, isn’t it feasible that we can love the relatively small group of people we will ever encounter in our lives?! When I think of it that way, it does become a simple task. Jesus has loved, continues to love and will always love every person ever created. Who knows that what total even is – only God knows. So, yes, we can love our little circle of people we encounter!
Remember that Jesus loves us ALL – no exceptions – so we can love others also, just as He does with no exceptions. When we need a friendly reminder – and there will be times we need that reminder – just look to this verse for comfort and help. He loves us – always remember that and show HIS love to those we can reach!
