Creation Displays the Fingerprints of God

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power:  for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created”, Revelation 4:11

Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”  This is all I need to know to believe God is the creator of life and all things that are in it.  But, accepting this truth requires faith in God and the belief that His word is true and infallible.  Unfortunately, some people don’t put their trust in God and therefore don’t have the faith to believe His word.  What amazes me most about this whole creation versus evolution debate is the blindness of those who daringly question the authority of God.  You don’t have to believe in God to see His miracles and wonders. Romans 1:20 states “the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made.”    For instance, awake early in the morning and watch the sun rise.  How does it know when to come out?  I know it is on a perfect 24-hour cycle, but who is responsible for keeping it moving in perfect time?  I have never seen a watch yet that could run for eternity without a little maintenance or fine-tuning.  The evolutionist perhaps can answer this question, but his answers are vague. Now, if the beautiful sunrise is not enough to convince you that you are seeing the wonders of God, then consider the ocean tide.    Have you ever noticed the tide rushing into the shore?  It flows in and it flows out.  It comes rushing in and then suddenly it stops.  Do you ever question just how it knows when and where to stop?  Do you ever wonder just how it stops?  Yes, I know.  Tides come and go according to gravitational pull.  But, what is the origin of the gravitational pull?  How does it know just how high that high tide is?  How does it keep time so that high tide and low tide always follow the right sequence?  You are right.  It is because of the alignment of our planet earth and the moon but just who keeps it at just the right spot so that tide flows in and out in perfect rhythm?  Again, evolutionists might have answers to these questions but they will be vague and their answers will dead end right at the face of the question  “where did it all begin?”.  My answer to these examples and many more is quite simple.  God created the heavens and the earth, every living thing, and all that was needed to sustain life.  Evolutionists may not like my answer but my answer has something theirs doesn’t.  IT HAS A BEGINNING AND THAT BEGINNING IS GOD.

I am certain there are still skeptics in the crowd, those who just don’t believe that a Supernatural God spoke the world into existence.  His infallible word, the Bible, even addresses this unbelief.  The Bible says in Romans 1:22 that “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.”  It further addresses this point in II Thessalonians 2:10-11 where it says “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:” So, for the skeptic, I offer this scientific evidence.

Science is built upon foundational laws and theories.  Two such laws are called the 1st and 2nd laws of thermodynamics.  The First Law of Thermodynamics states that matter can neither be created nor destroyed.  So, where did it all come from?  How do you get something from nothing?  The evolutionist contradicts the very rules of science by believing that something happened without an origin.  Remember, it is scientific theory that says matter can neither be created nor destroyed.  Where did life come from?  The scientific theory of biogenesis reveals that life can only come from life.  Again, where did it all begin? Further, the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics establishes that everything tends to go towards disorganization—not organization and that everything is moving towards increased energy. Considering that the evolutionists presume the universe began in a very chaotic state that by definition is a state of high energy then how could the universe expand and create an orderly energy filled universe?  In order to do so, the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics must be violated because chaos supposedly became the ordered universe we now know and the high energy of that state is continually decreasing.  As for the “Big Bang” theory, explosions normally generate disorder not order and this universe-creating explosion must have been the biggest explosion ever because it had to create something from nothing, life from nonlife.

Though this evidence is undeniable, perhaps the most compelling scientific evidence that God was the creator of the universe and all that is in it lies within its incredible fine-tuning.    Our universe is uniquely designed as a habitat for life in general and for humans in particular.  As of October 1993, twenty-five different characteristics of the universe were recognized as precisely fixed.  If they were different by only slight amounts this would spell the end of the existence of life. The degree of fine-tuning necessary for life surpasses by many orders of magnitude the best human beings have ever achieved (Ross, 1994).  The most miniscule variation in the value of a series of fundamental properties of the universe would have resulted in no universe at all, or at least a very different universe. For instance, a minor difference in the electron’s charge and stars wouldn’t burn.  There would be no burning sun at the center of our solar system to provide life-supporting heat and light (Ferguson, 1992).  For the universe to have stars that generate elemental diversity, provide long-term sources of energy of suitable wavelength of radiation to facilitate chemical reactions, and satisfy many other requirements for a suitable habitat for life, the mathematical form of the laws of nature, and the 19 universal constants have to be “JUST SO” (Bradley, 1999). One such constant that requires incredible fine-tuning is the vacuum energy, or cosmological constant. The existence of life of any kind seems to require a cancellation between different contributions to vacuum energy accurate to about 120 decimal places”  (Weinberg, 1994).  Now that’s fine-tuning!

No matter how I look at the universe, whether it is by observing the splendor and wonder of nature, or by sifting its existence through scientific facts or through eyes of faith, I can’t help but see the fingerprint of God.  Perhaps the great songwriter said it best when he said,” I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, thy power throughout the universe displayed…My God, My God, How Great Thou Art!” Amazingly, the God of the Universe who spoke the world into existence and whose fingerprint is etched in nature, wants you to be His child.  Luke 19:10—“For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”  “For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.”—2Corinthians 5:21Who needs a Saviour?  Everyone needs a SaviourRomans 3:23 tells us “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”  Who can be saved?  All who repent and receive Him as Saviour can be saved—“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”—Romans 10:13How can you be saved? It is as simple as A-B-C.  Acknowledge you are sinner (Romans 3:23), Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and Confess Him as Saviour—“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine Heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvationRomans 10:9-10.  It is my prayer that you weigh the overwhelming evidence that God is the creator of all things and in doing so come to know Him as personal Saviour. “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God”, I John 3:1. What He has done for others He will surely do for you!
