“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” (Jeremiah 31:3)
It is more than my mind can comprehend that the Lord loves me with an everlasting love. But this truth is also what sustains me and motivates me every day. The prophet Jeremiah had a long and hard task to do for the Lord and no doubt at times, he must have contemplated if his work was really doing any good for the Kingdom of God. Perhaps, you sometimes feel that way too. I know that if I am not extremely diligent with my prayer and study time, the devil can sometimes steer my thoughts in that direction, as well. But, quickly, I am reminded of the Lord’s Words to Jeremiah. Not only was Jeremiah reassured of God’s love for him, but he was reminded that it was with lovingkindness that the Lord sought after him and drew him unto Himself. We too, just like Jeremiah, can rest assured that God loves us with an everlasting love and with just simple reflection can see how He lovingly draws us to His side. What comfort these words give to me every day and all along the way. Praise God I am loved.
“Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.” These are simple words of truth written in the song, “Jesus Loves Me.” This song has become part of my daily routine, because in every season and for every reason it reminds me of His love for me and the blessings His love brings. In difficult times, His love sustains me. In sad times, His love cheers me. When I am weak, His love strengthens me. When I am lonely, His love comforts me. When I am scared, His love gives me peace. When I am in need, His love supplies my EVERY need. When I am happy, His love multiplies my happiness. When things are fabulous, His love propels my joy to heights otherwise unknown. Jesus loves me, this I know and because I know this truth, I am forever changed!
